Action Medical Research
Action Medical Research has been funding medical breakthroughs for over 70 years. We have helped to beat polio, fight meningitis, prevent stillbirths and develop ultrasound scanning in pregnancy, helping to save thousands of children’s lives and change many more. Today we continue to tackle the challenges disease and disability present by funding high quality research and some amazing research projects across the UK to save and change children’s lives. Research that could lead to new treatments, cures and medical breakthrough for children fighting a rare disease.
Qhubeka
Qhubeka is a global charity that moves people forward with bicycles in Africa. People earn bicycles through our programs, improving their access to schools, clinics and jobs. A bicycle is a tool that helps people to travel faster and further, to generate income and to carry more. In the face of extreme and persistent poverty, bicycles can change lives by helping to address socioeconomic challenges at the most basic level – helping people to get where they need to go.
Ride4IBD
RIDE4IBD is a movement aimed to increase the social awareness of Inflammatory Bowel Disease for people living with IBD. Our goal is to Inspire patients in order to empower them, to Challenge their condition while providing resources, education, and to encourage health and fitness for the IBD community. RIDE4IBD was founded by Cory Greenberg, a professional cyclist living with Ulcerative Colitis from Southern California. Now in remission, Cory has set his sights on using cycling as a platform to advocate for the IBD community, by inspiring others to not be ashamed of their diagnosis and to speak out about the struggles of living with IBD, while helping to encourage health and fitness for the IBD community.
