After a PhD at Leeds University and postdocs in Gothenburg, Manchester and at the Karolinska Institute, his professional career has spanned R&D, Business and Corporate Development and company leadership across biotech, biopharma, and academic tech transfer. He's currently CDO at Anocca, and part of an amazing team developing next generation T cell therapies.
Mark is a passionate amateur roadie. His "Palmarès" include Vätternrundan, one of the biggest sportives in the world, 300km around Sweden's Lake Vättern (3x, with a record time of 8h41m - that's fast!), the Fred Whitton Challenge (180km and 3,950m ascent in the heart of England's Lake District) and Gotland360 (the only sportive where the number of calories burnt over the weekend is +/- 0!). His favorite places to ride a bike are the bergs and cobbles of Flanders, the mountains of northern Italy and the rollers around Sörmland in central Sweden.

After moving to Japan in 1997 he began working for Pfizer, and subsequently, a spin-out company as Director of Business Development & Licensing. He now runs his own consultancy business with the aim of creating better access for and to Japanese biotech, pharma, and academia. On top of his business activities, he still rides his bike between 15,000 and 20,000 km per year, competes in local races, and UCI Gran Fondo races.

Claire began cycling after the lack of a driver’s license prompted her to take it up as a means to commute, which she has done in Whitehorse, Yukon; London, England; Carlsbad, CA; Oxford, England; and Munich, Germany. Road cycling (outdoor and indoor) became her sport of choice after dealing with chronic running injuries, though she also enjoys mountain biking on Northern Canadian single track.
Currently based in Munich, Claire manages patient programs for the rare disease non-profit Global Genes. She aims to one day ride the Kluane Chilkat International Bike Relay as a solo rider but is upping her mileage on Zwift in the meantime.

After many years of club rowing in Cambridge (UK), Jason returned to the saddle, spreading his activities between road cycling, Zwifting and touring. Recent trips have featured 1000 miles up the West coast of Norway to Nordkapp and a trans-Pyrenean Atlantic to Mediterranean adventure from Spain to Andorra. Most recently he did a 650 mile circuit of Scotland. This year he finally succumbed to the vEverest challenge on Zwift and rounded off the effort at 10,400 metres of climbing for good measure. ‘Never again’ or maybe?!
Jason is a business development SVP at Evotec. Previously, he worked in big pharma, CROs, an investment group and founded a company operating in the protein degradation drug discovery space.
Jason did his industry sponsored biochemistry PhD at Cambridge University.
