Sealing the deal, finding the right collaborator, uncovering innovation and new opportunity - it's all about people and relationships. BiotechBikers brings together “bike-minded” biopharma and life science professionals in a unique, networked community, connected through group rides, meetups and other social events
Innovation, progress and problem solving depend on people meeting, building relationships and exchanging ideas. This is especially true in the life science industry, where interaction with colleagues is key. Cycling and socializing go hand-in-hand and is the perfect way to network. Looking for a way to combine it all, Mark Farmery, a biotech business developer and keen roadie based in Sweden, founded BiotechBikers in 2017.
BiotechBikers is a global community that brings together biopharma, biotech, academic bioscience and healthcare professionals who share a passion for cycling. We are dedicated to fostering new relationships, building collaborative networks and promoting inclusion, diversity and a healthy and active lifestyle.
BiotechBikers is non-profit and supports a number of charitable causes.
We organize a variety of activities, many including invited high profile guests, ranging from meetups, group rides and larger events scheduled around conventions and conferences. Rides vary in length, the pace will always allow for conversation and the essential coffee and cake stop will be built in.
In 2020 we held our first virtual group ride, using the Zwift platform. We continued to develop this through 2021 and run side-by-side real-life meetups and events as society started to open up post-pandemic. We had a blast during 2022 and are looking forwards to doing more this year.
